Our fundraising aims are based solely on supporting or furthering our charitable purpose, which is:
The relief of women in the UK who have had or may face mastectomy, and who live or are considering living without breast reconstruction, in particular (but not limited to) by providing information, advice, and raising awareness among healthcare professionals and the wider public

All donations, and profits from our fundraising activities go directly to projects that support our charitable purpose. Our charity is managed and run solely by volunteers thanks to our amazing team of trustees, and online support group moderators – all of whom are women living without reconstruction after mastectomy. We work hard to keep our overheads to a minimum.
By donating to Flat Friends you are supporting the following charitable activities:
Patient booklets, flyers and posters
All of our literature is available free of charge to all breast cancer units and hospitals. Your donations make this possible!
£1 could print 50 Flyers to be displayed in waiting rooms and supplied in breast cancer information packs to newly diagnosed women.
£5 could print 25 Patient Information Booklets to given to women facing mastectomy without immediate reconstruction.
£11.50 could send 1 pack of booklets and flyers to a hospital.
£27 could run our website and online forum running for one month.
We work hard to build relationships with healthcare professionals, patient services, and other charities. We attend regional events, and have had a stand at the Association of Breast Surgery annual conference since 2017. This means we have spoken with representatives from over 135 hospitals and breast care units, all of whom now stock our flyers and patient booklets.
£600 enabled two volunteers to attend the two-day ABS conference in Glasgow in 2019.
