How Flat Friends started…

Once I had decided that reconstruction wasn’t the right choice for me, I looked around for other ladies making the same decision and found no support networks in the UK, only an international group based in the US. It was great to find like minded women, but our health system is very different and I found that clothing ideas weren’t from shops I knew.

So in August 2014 I decided to start Flat Friends, a closed Facebook group, where women like me could find support, advice and friendship.

We have been a registered charity since 2016 and we now support over 2000 ladies via our Facebook community, Twitter, an online forum and face to face. As well as that, we continue to raise awareness and work with breast nurses and surgeons, so we can be accessible to those who need us.
